Passion for Bolton attracted hundreds of members of the public to watch the large scale, open air live performance telling the story of Easter on the Town Hall Steps. More than 50 actors re-enacted Jesus’s betrayal, crucifixion and resurrection. Opening with a perfomance by local schools children and Passion for Bolton Youth choir followed by a procession of actors playing Jesus and his disciples lead by donkeys also made its way through the streets before joining the play.

screens during the live perfomance.
The extravaganza, co-ordinated by Caroline Wyke, project manager, involved over 150 volunteers, over 50 participants in the cast, a youth gospel choir, a team from a local school and an Interfaith group who have come together to make this event a landmark event for Bolton. The performance took place on a three tier stage, with two large plasma screens showing pre-filmed clips of the Easter story. Passion for Bolton has been a collaboration between Bolton Christian Community Cohesion, Bolton Council, local churches, volunteers from different faiths and non, St Catherine's and other local schools and the Interfaith Council over the past two years. Local schools' artwork is on display now. Caroline Wyke
